New Job & Desk Inspiration

Bad blogger.. party of one!

I, needless to say, have been slacking again.
I just wrapped up my first week at my new job and time has been a luxury.
First weeks of everything usually draaaaggg on. Work, class, you name it..
I always hated the first week of classes. That could be attributed to
the fact that my name was almost always said incorrectly.
CORE-IN ? No, Corin...
As in Corin-thians in the Bible.
As in Corin from the movie Big Daddy who, yes, worked at Hooters.
Anyway, the first week is usually the week that you want to just be over.
Piles of paper work.
Being introduced to everyone.
Then forgetting their names.
Having all of your new co-workers judge every. little. thing. about you.
Trying 3 new routes to your new office.
All of which just so happen to force you to drive through school zones. Help.
And then theeee worst.
WHERE IS THE CLOSEST STARBUCKS?
Yes, that happened.
Fortunately, there is one just a mile away with-
wait for it-
a drive-thru. Thank the heavens.
But this week was a little different!
I literally just dove right into my new job and MAN does it feel good.
to be back in the field selling!

Naturally a new job brings a new little workspace!
I haven't been able to do much yet but I am looooving these ideas:

Picked these up for $15!

I'll keep y'all updated on the work space
progress but again, time is a luxury, people!

In other news, here's a few recent weekend snapshots from zee new camera:

Deep sea fishing with this guy!

Jake was not wanting to pose with Mom on Mother's Day..

Out for dinner for Tiff's 25th!

Back to my Sunday not-so-fun-day!

Holy Shenanigans: Multiple Weekend Updates!

Can we saaayyy M-I-friggin-A?
To say that I have been literally non-stop over the past month
would be an understatement. I have been a busy, busy BEE!

Let's start with Easter weekend and Bry's "man Easter basket."
I had seen this little gem ALL over Pinterest and could not wait to make Bryan's.
This fabulously classy little basket included all of his faves-
fishin mag, scratch offs, Peeps, Axe, Little Debbie Easter cakes gag.
Ok who am I kidding? They're delicious.
Red Bull and of course an obnoxious amount of candy.
Annndddd the rest of the weekend was spent on the boat.
The way most weekends should be spent, in my opinion. :)

We'll just have to fast forward through the next weekend
which was Claire baby's 2nd Birthday party.
That little shindig will be on the blog this week for
the SPD link up.

Let's seeee what ELSE has been going on round these parts ?
Sorry in advance for the photo dump...
1. Blue Martini for Shan's Bday! Woo Woo!!
2. A little DIY project for my Bro & Sis-in-Law's new home
3. Lot's of new purchases! One of which being
this baby- monogram, chevron infinity scarf from Very Jane!
4. Andddd some new kicks.
5. BEYOND obsessed with these candles from BBW.
Island Margarita and Tiki Beach ?
I mean honestly. Someone get this girl on a vacation.
6. Boat day and His & Hers Columbia shirts

Spppeaakingggg of vacation...
Guess whose going to Punta Cana in a few months?
THISSS GIRL!
Bry & I found a killer deal on Living Social for a 4 night all inclusive
stay at The Sanctuary. Needless to say I have started a live countdown.

We are in desperate need of a vacation.
I mean a phones off, toes in the sand, drink in hand kinda vacation.
We really haven't been anywhere since Boston last November.
I know it SEEMS like we're constantly on vacation.. especially with views like this:
BUTTT don't be fooled. Work sometimes just looks a little like vacation.
We had to head down to Palm Beach this past weekend for
the NACDS event at The Breakers.

I won't lie- I DID have to squeeze in a little fun while I was down there. :)

Alriiiight I'll stop dragging on about shopping and vacations
and tequila shots and let everyone get back to their Mondays.
Don't forget to swing by again this Thursday for Claire's bday recap!

How to Behave at an Office Christmas Party

Overall ? I'd say Operation Don't Act a Fool: Success.
This was year numero dos of my company Christmas party and I
have to agree with my bloggy buddy Ash over at
Life After the Aisle- so far they keep getting interesting.

Saw this and haaaddd to laugh:
Go ahead and do yourselves a favor and take a gander at that little link.

Typically only the office staff (we are a nation wide company
with our home office here in the beautiful F-L-A) partake in the Christmas festivities.
We do dinner and a white elephant gift exchange.

If you have never participated in a white elephant gift exchange-
lemmetellyasomethin
HOLY. TIME. CONSUMING.
I think it took us 2 whole freaking hours to get through presents.

Basically, each person choses a piece of paper with a number on it.
That number indicates the order in which gifts will be chosen.
#1 picks first and #20 (out of 20) would pick last, then #1
has the final choice.
You start by choosing a gift and once you open it and reveal its contents,
its the next person's turn.
They either have the option to steal your gift or pick a new one.
This process then goes on all night long. No joke.

I'm probably making it sound more exciting than it really is.
The whole gift-stealing process was EXHAUSTING and emotional, quite frankly!
If you get a sweet gift- don't get attached, girlfriend, because that thing
will be gone before your inappropriate self can order another cocktail.
MmmmmHmmmmm.

This year's most stolen gifts were:

These 3 items must have been stolen- I kid you not- 20 times.
I purchased the stemless wine glasses that came with a rustic, "wine-y"
kitchen towel, so that was particularly exciting to see stolen over and over.

I ended up with....
...WAIIITT FOR ITTT...
a motion sensor gum ball machine!!!!!
Is that not as exciting to you as it was for me??
ACTUALLY. I ended up with head phones and another iTunes gift card.
Waaahhh I got that last year.
So I forced one of the guys to switch with me.

Unfortunately, the only photo I snapped was of me and this hot thing:
Team Bubble Bib Necklaces. YAY!

Anndddddd the night ended like this:
Aside from several secret trips to the bar trips to the bathroom,
I'd say we were all on our best behavior! Bottom line:
I love love LOVE the crazies that I work with.
:)

Innnnn other news, tomorrow is the 12 Bars of Christmas pub crawl.
Get exxciteeedddd :D :D
I am more than ready to drink some rumpumpumpum
IF yaknowwhatimsayin.

Also, gave Jake a Christmas present a tad early this year.
I couldn't helllpppp itttttt!
It was a little pink, squeaky cupcake and Target gets me EVERY time with the dog toys.
Happy Friday EVE, yall!
