DIY Easter Garland

Happy half way through the week PEEPS.
Yes. That was a tad cheesy... I can't help it.
But speaking of Easter!
Let me share this super quick DIY with you.
My SWEET, beautiful niece, Claire, celebrated her 3rd birthday this past weekend,
so after I share a recap on that I PROMISE I will be getting around to wedding festivities.
On an even more exciting note, we should have all of our photos back by the end of this week.
Contain your excitement.

Last weekend we started painting Bry's office which meant a trip to Lowe's.
Lowe's does NOT suck lately. Either I'm hitting the early stages of
growing-up-syndrome or I'm starting to lose it but I love a good Sunday trip to Lowe's.
A trip to Lowe's meant.. PAINT SAMPLES!
When life hands you sample paint swatches, you start Pinteresting.
However, life did not hand these paint samples to me.
I went to each and every shade of color and grabbed handfuls and quickly shoved
them into my purse like a sketch ball. Bryan was in the process of having the paint mixed
and looked over at his klepto wife and said, "We are NOT painting anything in the house
that shade of yellow." The deer in headlights look must have been an instant giveaway to
the man helping him, "Ma'am, those are free. You're fine."
Caught.

Anyhow, swallow your pride and go in and grab yourself some dang paint samples.
Apparently, yes, they are free.
I printed a template of an egg and traced and cut out each one.
You can either hole punch or hot glue them to your ribbon or twine
(I hot glued because my hole puncher was too big so they would be sliding everywhere).
Voila!
An ADORABLE, practically free Easter DIY!
Enjoy!

October Photo Recap

I can NOT BELIEVE the month of October is already over.
We are 4 months away from wedding day and I know it's going to just fly by.

My new little Canon has been coming out to play quite a bit these days.
Here's some snap shots from the past month:

We decorated.
We took festive Halloween photos of our fur baby.
We went to the pumpkin patch.
We pouted like a small child when we were told "no" to getting
the lacey-looking pumpkin. ....still pouting over that one.
We baked Halloween ice cream cone cupcakes for our niece and nephew.
We forced our niece and nephew to eat the cupcakes so we can take pictures.
We burned through 4 Sweather Weather candles.
I know, I have a problem.
We went to the carnival.
We also watered our mums twice a week just like Mom said to and
they still never fully blossomed like they should have.
#overit
We watched our soon to be husby coach his football team.
We attended Mom's Zumba class for their annual costume Zumba party.
We carved a pumpkin.
Go Knights!
We went to the Coon Hollo corn maze.
We dressed up and passed out candy.
Correction: I passed out candy.
Bryan went all out and purchased a smoke machine
and a strobe light and scared every small child that walked up our driveway.
Our neighbors hate us.

I miss you already sweet October!

50 Shades of Gray

Moving is SUCHHH A BLAST!
Said no one. Ever.
On a happier note, we're all pretty much unpacked and ready for the fun to begin..
decoratingggg WEEEE!
On our Lowe's trip a few weekends ago, we were checking out some different
options for pavers in our backyard and naturally I was drawn to the walls and walls
of brightly colored paint samples, so down that aisle I went.
^ If that doesn't make you gravitate towards it something may be wrong with you.. ^
We decided to go with a gray for our bedroom.. we'll tackle the
other rooms later but moving in with the current color of OLIVE
in the master was simply not an option.
Seriously how stressful is olive??
Not a fan.
So gray. When they say fifty shades of gray, they ain't kiddin.
About 30 samples of gray and 2 trips to the paint store later, we finally settled on a color.
I also may have left out the two petty paint fights via text message.
Word to the wise for any men out there who are considering assisting in the paint process:
the phrase "JUST PICK ONE!" should never come out of your mouth.
Just pick one?
I'm looking at a gazillion frickin shades of gray here to the point where I feel
like I'm going cross-eyed and most of them are starting to look purple.
And if our walls end of purple? Game over.
Second piece of advice: sample swatches. Lots.
Also be super excited about the swatches that you have gathered and take an obligatory selfie.
You're about to commit to slapping one particular
color all over your bedroom walls- where you will wake up every morning,
where you will go to bed every evening, where you will down glasses of wine
while in bed watching Disney movies.
Pick a good solid color for your bedroom, if nothing else, for crying out loud.

Here are some rooms I found on Pinterest for inspiration..
We decided to go with Valspar's Woodland Colonial Gray.
Perfection :)
I LOVE the way it pops with the white!
That's the only room shot you get at the moment since my bedroom is
in minor disarray and I am DESPERATELY in need of a new duvet cover...
WHICH WE HAVE REGISTERED FOR WOOOOOO HOO!
Barbara Barry, I can't wait to have your fabulous pattern
spread ALLLLL over our king bed :):)
Happinesssss!

Green & Dirty

Thaaat's right people. That is how I like my men.
Kidding.
Those are just 2 words that described the ending of my weekend
and the beginning of my week..
See??!

Green:
1. 4-Leaf Clover Door Hang with Burlap Flower
2. More fun purchases from Michael's
3. Everyone loves a yard steak, yes??
4. Hanging Leprechaun Hat

Looking back at this picture, I'm seeing a lot of glitter.
I'm thinking I need to do less on the glitter decor ?

Dirty:
Like, super dirty:
If you're looking for an explanation, I really don't have one other

Anyway- fingertips!
I feel like I have the STRANGEST ailments I SWEAR!
So last Friday I made a birthday cake for one of the girls I work with

Giving > Receiving

Holy ABSENT lately!
December is BUSY so far!

Basically the past ten days have consisted of a TON of work,
Christmas shopping, Christmas planning, Christmas decorating...
you kind of get the picture.

It's starting to look very Merry around these parts and I
finally have some presents under the treeeeee :D EEE!
Speaking of presents- know when you're getting old ?
When it's more fun to buy presents than it is to get.
I don't even have my own little kiddos yet but I'm telling you-
I have been having a BLAST this year buying.

Starting with my little Princess of a niece:
Remember those sweet little cars from when WE were little?!
Their called "cozy coupes" and I got a STEAL on Amazon!
Amazon is totally my JAM lately.
Also. Let's discuss the book for a moment.
"If I Were a Bunny." Ever heard of it??
If you have a little nugget that you need to buy for- you MUST
purchase this book! Babies love the "touchy and feely" stuff.
Every page of this book has a different texture!
I probably flipped through Claire's like a million times.

Then there's my fave little nephew!
He is my only nephew, but I just love him to pieces and Bry and I
are totally trying to get him into football:

In other news, fun posts to look forward to this week:
Fabulous Christmas Wrapping
Kohen's STAR WARS Birthday Cake & Cupcakes!
12 BARS OF CHRISTMAS this weekend!!
Girls' Cookie Exchange/Cocktail Party Invites- woop!
Morgan's Lingerie Bridal Shower

Ok- short and sweet tonight, people because I still have a TON
of work left to do tonight! Today was exhausting to say the least- I won't
get into it but let's just say it involved my boots, a hard hat and a ton of mud.
Yay.

See you tomorrow! SMOOCH!
